Rosewood Ladies' Desk by S.& H. Jewell From the Late 19th Century
A piece of furniture veneered with rosewood, dating to the late 19th century. The rectangular form includes four small drawers and stands on slender legs. The desktop is covered in green leather with gold embossing, while the front of the desk is adorned with inlays of vases and garlands. The legs are fitted with brass casters. The leather top shows visible signs of use.
S.& H. Jewell is a family business founded in 1830 on Little Queen Street in Holborn, London.
