Dearle’s training as William Morris’s tapestry apprentice is beautifully demonstrated here in Elmcote. With gallant seedheads and miniature flowers the design is connected by swirling foliage arranged in a classically Dearle style.<br/><br/>Elmcote re-enters the Morris & Co. collection due to the collaboration collection with Emery Walker’s House the historic home of noted typographer and close friend of William Morris Sir Emery Walker.
