It is 8 3/4 inches long so it will fit in those tight spots but it is sturdy at 2 inches high and the solid pegs protrude 4 inches out with 2 inch in diameter tops.

There is some wear on the top where the rack was attached to the wall probably from the nails that were used to support it otherwise, it is in as expected condition.
