A large and impressive original circa 1841 English lithograph signed with the famous
Thomas Ashburton Picken as the creator of the lithograph. Hand colored.
Picken was a Scottish born painter and lithographer working in England between 1834 and 1875.

The print is titled the Launch of the Trafalgar. In the presence of her Majesty Queen Victoria and her husband Albert.

'Trafalgar' was a 120 gun first rate ship of the line. Woolwich Dockyard was founded by Henry VIII in 1512 to build his flagship 'Henri Grace a Dieu' (the 'Great Harry'), the largest warship of its time.

It is behind a mat and glass in a pretty wood gilt frame.
The mat has some yellowing and foxing. We have not removed the print from the frame.
From our perspective it is in good condition with a possible small and slight paper tear at the upper edge. Some fading and yellowing.
The frame has some surface wear. Mat has some foxing.
