The Song of Freedom is a drawing realized by Iranian Painter and Poet Parimah Avani in 2023. China ink and acrylic on ivory-colored paper. Hand-signed and dated. Excellent conditions. Presented in a Solo exhibition of "Calligraphy of Bodies" in Luoghi Comuni Turin 2023. The artwork is poetically created through expressionistic brush strokes, and various yellow, pink, red, and hue silvery, the well-applied dry and watery strokes represent gestural revolutionary figures in a minimalistic manner in a miniature style of composition. which makes this series unique: it is deeply behind the dynamic emotion of each gestural figure, four colors here have metaphorical features; pink as woman, yellow as hope, silvery as resistance, and red as blood. The panoramic lines inspired by Persian calligraphy, here have an exclusive sense of narration, creating motifs and repetition harmoniously in a neat composition, each reminding mysterious words. The style of Persian calligraphy and her knowledge of poetry let her make a visual poem in an expressionistic style, congruent with the poetic title, the use of space and maintaining an empty background and foreground intentionally have been made to emphasize the solitude and loneliness of gestural figures and at the same time connect to oriental calligraphy. Her artworks artwork has evident characteristics, firstly strongly inspired by Tachisme's “Abstraction lyrique" and artworks of Henri Michaux, and Hans Hurting secondly oriental Persian calligraphy of poems style is evident in her artworks, finally dynamic sensation of revolutionary art, the slogan of street wall transformed into contemporary language and its features intuitively are subtly inserted. Parimah Avani (Born1988) is an Iranian Poet and visual artist, since 2009 has lived and studied in Italy, after graduating from the Fine Art Academy of Rome in painting continued her research on “Aesthetic of Talisman and Magics Text and Craft” and took her Ph.D. title in the Sapienza University of Rome in 2020. These series have been presented in her solo exhibitions of: - Luoghi Comuni, Turin, 2023 - Paiz, Turin 2022 - Bagni Pubblici, Turin, 2022 from her have been published books and illustrations of books. The Last book of her “ The Magic Scroll of Antalus” published in 2020 in Iran was among the finalists for the “Shamlu” Literature and Poetry Award in 2021. Her main camp study has been mythology, ritual, and magic. Her art is strongly connected to the transfer of local and traditional folk art and its symbols into the contemporary language in a poetic style by the transformation of oriental calligraphy as the medium.
