Tom Richard Cavanaugh was born in 1923 in Danville, Illinois. He was a decorated painter whose works are held in collections including the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Joslyn Art Museum, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Cavanaugh taught at Louisiana State University, the Kansas City Art Institute, and Washington University in St. Louis, and was the owner/director of the Bay Street Studio in Boothbay Harbor, Maine for over 60 years. less
