The carved lacquered panels are embellished with an amazing gold leaf background. This is a well made, heavy piece with four superbly decorated panels. If the screen is opened flat the picture on one side continues through the panels. The picture shows a landscape scene with a golden body of water surrounded by flowers, grass, and birds. The reverse side of the screen is also decorated with a stark bamboo landscape having birds and flowers. The panels are supported by square legs with patinated brass clad feet. less
