A postmodern “Suomi” espresso mocha coffee set, from the late 1980s / early 1990s. Designed by Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva and produced by Rosenthal Studio Line, Germany. Made of fine white porcelain, the set consists of 6 cups and saucers. The original organic design by Timo Sarpaneva dates back to 1976, but this is a later version featuring platinum handles and a refined platinum trim on the saucers. It has been discontinued and is no longer available. The set is in very good condition and has been well cared for, with only one cup showing minor signs of age on the handle (please see photos). We believe that some parts of this remarkable set remain unused. The "Suomi" collection became renowned for its elegant, timeless form and functionality. It has won numerous design awards and is considered an iconic example of Scandinavian design in the world of porcelain, most notably winning the gold medal at Faenza, the highest accolade in the world of porcelain. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
