This authentic bistro … more Bistro table with terrazzo top and wrought iron foot, French, circa 1900 in the art Nouveau period. This authentic bistro table was frequently used in guinguettes. The guinguette, originating in the 17th century, was a type of popular tavern in the suburbs of Paris and of other cities in France. The term comes from guinguet, a type of cheap green wine served there. The top with its terrazzo (a mixture of binders such as cement and small stones) is original, and is marked by the passage of time.
