Midcentury modern birger dahl "birdy" table lamp for sonnico, norway (1950s). This architectural table lamp, designed by birger dahl in 1952, is a striking example of midcentury modern design from norway. Known as the model "s-30016" and produced by sønnico, this lamp showcases a polished metal body with elegant brass accents—a combination that is rare among vintage birdy lamps from the 1950s. The birdy series, which includes table, wall, and floor lamps, reflects a modernist style that has stood the test of time. In 1954, the table lamp "s-30016" was awarded the prestigious golden medal at the milan triennale, cementing its place as a design classic. In 2013, this iconic design was re-launched. However, the original blend of brass and white details, as seen in the vintage models, is no longer produced today, making these early versions even more sought after by collectors.
