I think it could be a door knocker or most likely a large clip, as the hinge is very tight like a clothespin. There are no markings for identification, its a lovely addition to any cast iron collection. Condition is what I consider normal wear, only tiny thing I see is a very minute splotch of light green paint right under the nose, not noticeable. Measures 4 in x 2.25in. This wise old owl would look good on a wall, door or perched on a desk. Cast iron collectible for sure.
Most of the items come estate fresh and have only been lightly cleaned leaving all patina intact. Signs of vintage age and wear to be expected. We have included up-close photos as part of our description. less
