This stunning Console Table was made in Italy during the 70s by the company that is a symbol of Florentine craftsmanship: Banci Firenze. The design of this mid-20th century desk is inspired by the Italian Neoclassical style, called Regency in the United Kingdom and Directoire in France. The idea of re-proposing classic Roman and Greek models considered in the 19th century the highest and unsurpassed point of art and architecture is visible in the choice of a simple, essential design that communicates symmetry and perfectly balances straight lines and geometric shapes. Just look at the perfect balance between the very straight and basic aluminum cross legs and the golden zoomorphic terminals in the shape of duck feet; or between the massive frame of the top lightened by the transparency of the glass. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
