We believe these to be modern reproductions of early 19th Century vessels. because of their intact bottle necks and the seam down the sides which might indicate machine made glass. Originally, these were used from the late 17th Century through the 19th Century to carry wine and spirits. Handblown, each had their own unique characteristics, from the tilt of the gooseneck to the trapped air bubbles which varied in size. There are traces of oxidation from the former contents of each bottle, showing that they have been used for their intended purpose. The larger bottle has "20 L" stamped at the neck.
