The detailed, hand painted … more This remarkable armoire has exceptional original paint and is dated 1771 with a monogram beside it. The detailed, hand painted panels includes lovely Falcons and vases bursting with flowers. The panels are highlighted with a red painted finish, while the canted sides and upper section of the large armoire have exquisite painted flourishes that add to this prestigious German armoire that rests upon large bun feet. The armoire has hand wrought iron hinges with rosehead nails as well as its original wrought iron lock.
It was designed and built to "break down" making it easier to install, move upstairs, etc. This large cabinet has been restored and waxed; it is strong/stable and ready to use. less
