On the back of the frame a writing from the early 1900s titled 'The Doctor, from a subject by Bega', referring to the Dutch painter Cornelis Bega (1620 - 1664) who stood out for his scenes of genre, usually interiors and of popular taste. Here shown is the interior of a house in which a woman is dressing the wound on a man's leg, assisted by her little daughter and the curious old woman. The work is presented in frame from the early 1900s. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
