Rare cast iron table fan with brass blades made by E.M.I. Utrecht, 1938 (Elektrotechnische Mechanische Industrie, founded in 1897). Placed on a block of solid wenge wood for decoration. The speed of the fan is adjustable with a mode switch (see photo) and works on 220 V/50hz. The condition is still in good, working condition with normal traces of use. The bakelite cover of one of the carbon brush holders has been replaced with a plastic one (see last picture), so the fan works well again. The nearly 100 year old fan is a collector’s item and is not suitable for everyday use. Marked E.M.I. Utrecht, Holland. Dimensions: h x w x d = 45 x 33 x 24 cm. Source: catalog Thabur 1938, page 291.
