When we acquired it, the porcelain was stained, and the bracket had lost most of its original paint. It was also lacking faucets and the drain plug. We have parts here to work with, so we decided to see what we could do, as the sink looked like it had much potential. The porcelain was well cleaned and virtually all of the discoloration was removed. It was found that the porcelain is in very good condition, with few dings or scratches to be found. Judging by the condition, it seemed that it must have been refinished at some point, but acid was used in the cleaning process that has melted away outer coatings on past sinks. That did not happen with this one. The entire inside of the bowl looks fine save for a couple small, shallow dings, and a very little discoloration that we failed to remove. The metal flange looks good, and as does the water overflow grate - and the stopper and chain are in very good condition. The edge of the backsplash that meets the wall has some of the typical chips. These were touched up with porcelain paint so that they now blend in well. The rest of the backsplash is in very good condition, with very few flaws to be found. The two small holes are for a soap dish that could be installed. The "Standard" faucets had chrome that was badly deteriorated, so it was removed to a great degree, and the faucets received multiple coats of enamel to protect the brass. The porcelain pieces atop each faucet look very good, as do the rest of the faucets. They were not recently tested with water, but the movement of the knobs feels right. The area around the bowl looks good, and the sides and front are fine down to the bottom edges that have small, touched up chips, the largest being a shallow one on the left side near the front. We have spare parts, but did not have a matching bracket for the left side. The spot where it would be bolted to the sink is damaged so that a bolt will not work. The bracket on the right side looks very good overall. It wasn't until the processing of the pictures that it was discovered that there are some small spots that didn't get painted. This has since been rectified. One would need to be creative in mounting the sink with the one bracket, and the lack of tabs on the back for a wall-mount bracket. The underside had surface rust that was somewhat removed with a wire brush, and then it was repainted. The corrosion mainly resides near the edges and the rest is fine. The plumbing pieces came from a vintage sink that had a rod to open and close the drain, thus the round piece on the pipe. The metal all looks good, and it fit together nicely. less
