My wife Pauline a veteran of many elegant dinner parties came up with an excellent use other than a single rose bud decorative table feature. She squeezed a scoop of sorbet inside the flower holder and placed it on a plate with a spoon for her palate cleansing course. This was always a great conversation-maker. See picture.
