Large Chinese framed porcelain plaque of a garden scene, a finely drawn and detailed Chinese couple, dressed in fine silks, reading together under a large banana leaf tree, with a plate of pomegranates, Buddha's hand fruits and a vase of lotus flowers nearby. Pines, bamboo and other flowering bushes line the fencing on the left and the rocky outcrop in front. An inscription in black xingshu script with two, red seal marks is glazed to the upper left. Mounted in the original, finely carved, Chinese, hongmu frame with fine Chinese joinery, with the original bronze hanger. The back is intact and removable. Circa Republic of China period or earlier.
