This contemporary 6x13 flat weave is an exciting new entry in Rug & Kilim’s Modern Collection. Handwoven in all-natural abaca and jute, it’s a modern take on antique and vintage Dhurrie flatweaves by one of the best partner looms in our craft, specifically led by a devoted collector and student of these Dhurries whose collaboration has allowed us to make the most meaningful contribution to the style.
On the Design:
The all over design enjoys a play of beige-brown and cream tones in a simple, minimalist repeat of geometric patterns almost like a lattice. Traditionally handwoven in the Philippines from banana tree leaf fibers, abaca commands attention with its elegant, lustrous sheen, and further enjoys a more green friendly, eco-conscious sustainable quality for the modern designer.
