engraver: francesco bartolozzi, born in florence in 1727, died in lisbon in 1815, among the most famous and appreciated italian engravers, he successfully interpreted the various engraving methods: etching, burin, dotted manner. Pupil of wagner in venice, he moved then to london where he found international success and became the owner of his own workshop.
