Paired with custom, contemporary lampshades in soft, moss-green velvet—handmade in an atelier near Amsterdam—these table lamps beautifully balance tradition and modern design.

The vases, which form the bases of the lamps, were handmade and hand-painted by different Royal Tichelaar Makkum master painters between 1940-60, as indicated by the markings on the bottom. Each vase features stylized floral motifs, with larger patterns that emphasize symmetry and decorative flourishes. The design showcases the rich interplay of terracotta orange, earthy greens, and deep cobalt blue, resulting in a visually striking yet harmonious piece.

While the swirling motifs are influenced by Chinese porcelain traditions, the boldness and simplicity of the design reflect Western interpretations of Chinoiserie, particularly influenced by the Dutch tradition of Delftware.
