The characters in this farce come from a good family, but alas, it is one of those families that used to be much better. The action takes place over a weekend at their North Shore mansion. It is a story that could have been written by Nancy Mitford if she were channeling Patrick Dennis. Actually, it really was Auntie Mame’s Patrick Dennis writing under a pseudonym (it preceded Mame by two years). Though light-hearted, there is a sardonic awareness of the complexities of sophisticated living. Fun. less
