Jacobean style carved oak flip-top console or credence table by Peck & Hills, early 20th century. It features an arcaded frieze with geometrical carvings fitted with a single dovetailed drawer. The hinged top with strong hardware flips open to create an octagonal shape and is supported by gate leg construction. Hearty, turned baluster form legs with block feet are joined by an angled stretcher. As it stands flush against the wall, it makes a beautiful console table while opened it is great for entertaining and provides leg room on the gate leg side.
It is in very good, sturdy and sound vintage/antique condition with minor, age-appropriate signs of wear. Please note some thin chips/cracks to the wood on the back edge of the top closed position (last two photos). They are hardly noticeable and do not detract from the table's beauty. This is a stunning table of excellent quality and craftsmanship. Peck & Hills label is inside drawer.
Measurements provided in the listing are for the table open.
