The walnut burl is flamed because it has many aesthetic designs. These designs have very contrasting complex patterns and intertwined veins on a naturally dark background of varying intensities.
This chest of drawers has five drawers, including a top drawer hidden in the upper belt of the cabinet and a secret drawer at the bottom.
The drawers are mounted in a dovetail ensuring perfect strength. The drawers can be opened daily and contain many objects sometimes heavy. They slide perfectly.
The back of the dresser is made of solid wood panels so very resistant.
Discrete entries do not protrude from the surface. They are brass and are called “fil” entries. The key is used to open the drawers and is in working condition.
This dresser has a beautiful patina, aged by time. Its appearance is sweet and romantic.
The chest of drawers is perfectly stable. It rests on low feet that respect the shape of the furniture in front and are called "patin" and two straight feet in back.
The top of the dresser is a grey marble Saint Anne moulded on the sides and the front. The moulding is worked and called «pair of buttocks». The marble is richly veined and in perfect condition. The corners are rounded.
In the 19th century, all famous houses had a Louis Philippe dresser with simple and elegant lines. The reign of Louis-Philippe is the delight of the cabinetmakers. The latter develop curved shapes, enhance large smooth surfaces, work and select veneer to obtain the most beautiful patterns.
