Low Japanese chest with a spacious drawer from the Meiji period.
Dimensions: height 24 cm, width 78 cm, depth 42 cm.
Ko-dansu were traditionally used to store various personal items or clothing and were often placed on the floor or on raised platforms.
This traditional drawer chest is crafted from paulownia wood and has developed a warm patina over the years.
Due to its low height, this practical storage piece is also ideal as a unique display for plants, ceramics, or other art objects.
An authentic tansu that adds a serene accent to any stylish interior.
