This magnificent mid-century danish bar by erik buch for dyrlund, most likely crafted in the 1960s, is a brilliant example of scandinavian design philosophy from that era, combining both elegance and practicality. Primarily crafted from rosewood, a highly sought-after material known for its rich, deep color and distinctive grain pattern, the bar showcases superior craftsmanship.
the front side of the bar has a practical niche with a white laminate panel at the back. The wonderful frontage is fully covered in veneer and also features a long footrest made of solid wood with metal inlay. The floating top surface is finished in sleek black glass, providing an easy-to-clean surface.
on the serving side, the bar offers a highly functional layout. It includes three drawers with leather handle pulls—two smaller drawers to the left and a deep drawer to the right. Additionally, there is a pull-out laminated tray, perfect for mixing drinks, along with a recessed area for extra preparation space and pull-out shelf for the cooler. Below the drawers, you'll find a section of sliding lockable doors that open to reveal adjustable shelving for secure storage. To the right, there are eight bottle slots, ideal for organizing wine or spirits.
despite the passage of time, the bar remains in excellent vintage condition, with only minor signs of age-related wear. The original black laminate on the top has been replaced with a black glass surface, making the piece even more elegant and easy to maintain. The pull-out drinks tray is slightly stiff but will likely loosen with use.
please note that the bar is extremely heavy, requiring several people to move it into place. This is a unique and luxurious piece that we have never had before in our collection.
