Amazing monumental cobalt blue silk velvet sectional sofa designed by Todd Merrill Custom for a Samantha Todhunter installation. Dramatic scale and presence inspired by the iconic designs of Harvey Probber. The large one-off piece measures over 12 feet long and has tufted seating with a floating base finished in silver. The hardwood frames are upholstered with plush Italian Dedar silk velvet in a blue notte color. The sectional consists of two long sofas measuring 109" long each. The sofas are in very good well-preserved condition and measure 36 inches deep. The set includes a matching ottoman measuring 36 inches square. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship.
Provenance: From a historic 1916 Julia Morgan mansion located in Presidio Heights San Francisco, CA. The dramatic deep blue provides a strong anchor to any large room or space. The design is reminiscent of Harvey Probber's iconic sofas from the 1970's.
