The candlesticks are Neoclassical … more Pair of tall sterling silver candlesticks from Whiting Manufacturing Co., New York. Year hallmarked is 1923. The candlesticks are Neoclassical in form with an beautiful octogon shaped base flowing into an octogon shaped column. Above the column is a graceful shape with small beading detail above. The candle cup is circular. The candlesticks are 10.5" H x 4.25" across the base. The candlesticks are in excellent antique condition. Each candlestick has a mongram of IWS on the side of the base and each is stamped on the underside with Whiting Maker's mark as well as sterling, the number 9641, and the Whiting date mark for the year 1923. There is some tarnish and silver polish remnants but there are no splits, breaks, dents, etc. The underside of the candlesticks indicate that they are cement filled. less
