Bold and three dimensional scrolling elements meander around the frame, some invoking leaf forms, others more evocative of strapwork and cartouches. The gilding is bright and very attractive on a thick gesso ground. Ca. Mid 20th century. There is some patina and wear, typical sporadic chipping and some spots of retouch, all in all a good surface with attractive signs of age. Mirror plate with some irregularities, light desilvering.
