Crafted in France circa 1880, and built of walnut, each chair stands on cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder, and ending with escargot feet. The chair features a rounded and arched back embellished with a carved floral decor at the pediment, and a comfortable wide and deep seat over a bombe apron decorated with hand carved floral motif. Both seat and back are outfitted with hand woven cane, and further dressed with a removable custom fabric cushion with a hard bottom to protect the caning. The six dining chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina with delicate beige seat caning.
