This Andy Warhol Foundation very rare vintage 1999 lithograph print custom framed Pop Art poster " Endangered Species : Pine Barrens Tree Frog " 1983, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by Te Neues Publishing Company, New York. Te Neues Verlag, Kempen, Germany and Kunstverlag Scumacher, Dusseldorf. Printed in Germany in 1999 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1983 titled " Endangered Species : Pine Barrens Tree Frog ", copyright 1999 The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Inc.
This is a rare opportunity for true Warhol fans and collectors as this coveted image Endangered Species lithograph Pop Art poster print with special subtle metallic silver ink, is long out of print and very scarce to find. The official " AW " Foundation seal of authenticity is printed on the poster in the lower right corner below the artwork image.
When the state of our planet and the fate of its inhabitants became a cause for alarm, Warhol created art works to reflect that concern. His 1983 " Endangered Species " portfolio represented a new subject matter for him. The complex and dazzling color combinations make the animal images so irresistibly beautiful that one cannot help becoming involved in the environmentalist message conveyed.
In 1983 Warhol created a series of artworks that portrayed endangered animals from around the world. Using brilliant colors characteristic of his signature style, and poignant expressions suggest the animals fate, Andy created a dynamic tension between art and reality.
The rare out of print framed lithograph print Pop Art poster measures 23 1/2" W X 31 5/8" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern navy blue satin finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition.
