Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-88) was one of the most important and influential artists of the 1980s New York City art scene. First as a graffiti artist, then as a painter, he created dynamic images that reflected his urbanist impressions and lifestyle and creative energy.
During his years as a developing and then an accomplished artist, he filled notebooks with drawings and written work that chronicled his experiences. This book provides an overview of some of Basquiat's completed notebooks, as well as a fascinating introduction to the graphic iconography that distinguishes his work.
This book, a first edition published in 1993, is softcover, with 167 pages. It's in very good pre-owned condition. See photos for slight signs of use to cover edges. The book measures 12.25 x 9.25 i x 1.75 inches. less
