A 19th century Country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order. New enamel face signed by the clockmaker, R. Jeantet and the name of his town, St. Jean (in Southwestern France). Embossed brass clock surround with grape clusters in pale gold, and painted pendulum with flowers and wheat in red, pink, blue and green. New glass panes. Circa 1880-1900.
