The key handle can be removed to allow top to sit inside base for easy storage or with the handle removed the cover can be inverted to use as a separate serving dish. The dish has beautiful beading detail around the edge of the lower part and complementary beading on the lid. The key handle has wonderful movement with a scrolling design on top of leaves. The lower dish is monogramed with a W. This dish is early 19th century with hallmark on the bottom indicating Andrew 1883 followed by EFNS. The plating is in good condition overall with some expected wear on bottom with copper base showing through and some pit marks. Besides a serving dish, this piece can be used for storage of tea bags or other small items in the Pantry or a lovely container for storage in the bath. See less
