Large Empire Chandelier in Golden Iron and Sixteen Light Crystal 1780s Circa monumental antique hall chandelier, chandelier from the late 1700s of Piedmontese origin, the region of northern Italy that borders France, from the Empire era, handmade in iron and crystal in excellent condition of conservation. Distinguished by the classic hot air balloon structure and the elegance of the imperial era, this eighteenth-century chandelier is a furnishing accessory with a very current place in contemporary interiors. with its sparkling crystals and classic design, this chandelier is an Italian masterpiece of art and light, a refined element for luxury lighting.
The circular structure is in forged iron embellished with vegetal scroll decorations, palmettes and floral ornaments.
The golden finish is mecca, the lights are arranged on two levels of height, eight curved cast iron arms with a double volute, decorated with foliate and zoomorphic motifs, with an eagle, are arranged on the central crown. A further eight lights are placed on elaborate candelabras with volutes, bayonet-fitted pyramidal castings surmounting the major crown.
The upper crown is adorned with fusions in the shape of a curved palmette, a cascade of chains and festoons of crystal ovals complete this elegant chandelier created at the end of the 18th century for the candle lighting of large halls.
The Piedmontese chandelier comes from a private villa, it has been completely dismantled, cleaned and re-electrified according to European standards, it works with 16 E14 bulbs and wired for a maximum power of 1500 watts with double switching.
The terminal ball has been added, in the last photo you can see the chandelier hanging in the private villa of origin, without the final ball.
Chain and cup are missing, but can be supplied upon request.
It weighs 32 kg.
