Beautiful antque side by side secretary desk in oak wood. This lovely antique desk with curio cabinet is a very unique piece!
Antique Side by Side Secretary Desk
This lovely antique side by side secretary desk has so much character. The desk features a side-by-side design, meaning it has a curio cabinet on one side and a fold-out desk with storage below and above.
The side by side secretary desk also has a lot of decorative details, in fitting with its early 1900s style. It features a beveled mirrored back along the top section, with fluted columns that support the top and shelf. Of course, it also has lovely applied carving along the crown and desk front, including two amazing “Northwind” faces. The mythical face was common in the late Victorian period, and symbolised the changing of seasons.
Of course, the cabient has a lovely look, with oak and oak veneers decorating every surface. (The shelves in the curio cabinet feature a mix of poplar and oak wood). Additionally, the cabinet includes three different keys that operate each of the different locks.
Oak Desk and Curio
This oak desk and curio has a nice design and shows good condition. There are some signs of age as expected with age, including on the desk surface (when opened) and a few repairs here and there. It would make a lovely focal point in any Victorian style home! less
