The tilt-top construction allows the table to be stored discretely when not in use, but when opened up, the top features a stylized vineyard label that has been hand-painted more recently. This table would have been used to serve wine during tastings or to celebrate the end of grape harvests.

In the center of the tan-colored table (the trestle supports and two legs with rounded ends have been finished in a darker brown) are a pair of regardant (looking back) ibexes with gray fur and golden crowns for collars. The chains of their collars are broken, which is a representation of freedom in heraldry. They are flanking an oval escutcheon that is topped with an open mural crown. The shield alternates blue and red bands while depicting a starry sky above a castle behind choppy waters with a crescent moon reflecting in the water. Written above and below the coat of arms display are the phrases “Grand Vin de Bordeaux”, “Domaine de Haut Passeloupe” and “Margaux”, which is most likely from a 1964 bottle of Haut Passeloupe that inspired the artist.
