Made by Takatori Hassen XIII. In 1979, he was recognised as a traditional craftsman by Japan's Ministry of Trade and Industry. Over his career, he served as a judge at Fukuoka art exhibitions, received numerous honours including the Fukuoka Governor's award, the International Art and Culture Prize, and the Art Grand Prize at the Paris Art Festival in 1996. In 2005, he was awarded the Zuihō Shō (Order of the Sacred Treasure). His work adheres to the refined Kirei-sabi aesthetic of Enshū Takatori pottery
