I don't think you will find a more luxurious or beautiful antique light fixture anywhere. Naturally, it has porcelain light sockets -- 3 of them. As you can see from the photo the lights work perfectly. (I had to wire the fixture up to an electric cord and plug it in so that I could show you that it works, and how amazing it presents itself when lit. Note that the fixture has 2 built-in holes that can be used to install this directly into the ceiling where you have an existing light fixture, ceiling fan, or chandelier.

The porcelain "rod" measures right at 12 inches long, so it hangs 12" down from the ceiling. The shade measures about 14" in diameter!

This fixture and shade was the original fixture and shade in a house that was built in the 1930's, and remains in excellent condition! less
