This is a beautiful black cast iron antique fireplace surround taken from an old house in Huntsville, Alabama. It measures 28 inches wide, 30 1/2 inches tall, and at it's deepest point (near the top) is about 1 1/2 inches deep.
The size of the opening is 20 inches wide and 25 1/4 inches tall.
It is in outstanding condition, with only some light rust here and there. I believe soaking a paper towel with white vinegar and leaving it to sit on the rust spots might even take them off, without the need for scrubbing. I have found most people want such antique items to be left as-is, with some patina on them to help establish age, so I have not so much as wiped down this fireplace surround. less
