With our absolute highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering this exceptional late 19th century antique library table. We are elated to bring this piece to market as it is without question one of the finest examples of an antique library table that we have been able to offer in a considerable amount of time. Demand for antique oak library tables around six feet in length has grown considerably in recent years with the reality of more people than ever working from home. These tables are often used for either office desks or dining tables depending on the requirements of any given collector. Their versatility in several interior settings has made them incredibly popular across the country.
This antique library table is constructed from a premium grade of quartersawn white oak, also referred to as tiger oak, which has developed a rich and vibrant color with a warmth and depth that takes many years to naturally create. The top of the library table features boldly figured tiger oak with a desirable grain pattern that elevates this desk well above most other examples constructed during the same time period. There are two fully functioning drawers situated beneath the top of the table. This library table features four round and fluted legs that are joined together by a continual stretcher base and raised on four finely turned bun feet. The legs and stretcher framework are able to be detached from the top section in order to ease the difficulty of transport and limit the chance of any element of the table being damaged. This antique library table is in exceptional condition with only a singular blemish that is darker than the rest of the table top being apparent. This discoloration is included in the photographs as it merits mention however it really does not detract from the beauty of the table at all. We could not be prouder of this wonderful antique library table and have no doubt that a deserving collector will take notice of this great opportunity to own such an exceptional and rare piece of history. The library table measures 72" wide x 37" deep x 28 1/2" tall with 22 1/4" of clearance height beneath the framework for the drawers.
