This chair … more This is a circa 19th century Queen Anne style low armless ladies sewing rocking chair or nursing rocker. This chair was dedicated to women performing their daily feminine tasks, such as sewing and nursing. This rocking chair was considered a standard piece of furniture in many Victorian bedrooms.

The rocking chair features solid mahogany construction, a shaped back crest supported by two straight stiles and a shaped back splat, tooled leather seat with nail head trim, and turned front legs supported by an H stretcher.

The rocking chair measures 34.5" tall, 16.5" wide, and 27" deep with a seat height of 14 inches.

The rocker is in good antique condition with wear consistent with age. There is some wear on the wood frame and some nail heads are missing on the back of the leather seat, as shown. less
