This is a beautiful claret (wine) jug from the late 19th or early 20th century from Germany in Jugendstil (German version of Art Nouveau) style. The yellowish green tinted glass vessel is housed in a beautifully crafted pewter mount with an Art Nouveau openwork design of grape vines (leaves and grape clusters). It is 6" wide, 12.5" tall (lid closed) and 5" deep. When the lid is open the overall height is 16". The capacity seems to be around 1 liter.
