The piece comes with the original lock and key that is still in working order. The trunk opens and stays open while in use. It's actually pretty clean inside and you can still see some advertisements that it was lined with. I love that the leather has an embossed border around the top "squares" if you look closely. The nailheads are also made of copper. One leather handle on the left hand side is broken/missing. There appear to be a few repairs - some errant nailheads here and there, but that adds to the charm! less
