The simple and essential layout of these two Impero palm stands enhances their elegant proportions; the carving is relegated to the central festoon, the foliage on the edges and the rosettes on the handles. The decoration only affects the front half of the vase as it comes from a side altar and is therefore placed against the wall.
They come from a private Tuscan villa and are in perfect condition, compatible with the eighteenth-century dating and minimal gilding on the bases. less
