Description: A shelf capable of recalling the ancient glories of Greek art in an informal dimension such as that of your … more A shelf capable of recalling the ancient glories of Greek art in an informal dimension such as that of your apartment. The "studio 65" among the major exponents of radical design already in the 70s had proposed padded furniture in the shape of Greek ruins made on a large scale in soft polyurethane, with the idea of communicating that every end corresponds to a rebirth. In their project, still produced by Gufram, pieces of Ionic capitals and bases of tapered columns gain a new function after the destruction and collapse, transforming into seats or chaise longues. This shelf made in Italy between the 70s and 80s immediately reminded me of this stunning design project as soon as I saw it. Half capital in the Ionic style with its soft and bold volutes made of white glazed ceramic that once hung on the wall will support and stand like a small altar of precious things for you: a book, your favorite plant, a sculpture or become the throne of your cat. This item is dated between the 70s and 80s and despite showing some defects visible in photos and in summary good vintage condition. less
