A unlikely design, this mid 19th century rug was woven in western China also referred to as Indo Chinese. This rug displays a unique design that incorporates traditional Chinese elements, mostly taken from sild fabrics, dresses and hanging tapestries, that are deeply imbedded in Chinese culture.
