A signed abstract expressionist acrylic on canvas by listed artist Lucia Tallarico (1919-2014). Bold yellow tones sweepingly fill the canvas edged with subtle gray and brown tones. Signed in the lower right and in the back, titled Icarus and dated 1966.
Tallarico was born in New York and studied at the Art Students League, the National Academy of Design, and with Hans Hoffmann and Sam Feinstein. She had exhibitions in Aspen, Philadelphia, and New York, with work displayed at the Royal Academy of Music in London and at the Patricia Moore Gallery. She also taught at Riverdale Country School in New York.
