It must have great eye appeal and finish. Here’s a piece that qualifies, in many respects. Consider this Roman style wall safe in iron and bronze as a bold display piece against the wall. Flank it with baroque chairs and a great 17th century painting above.

Hard to date, but of at least the 19th century. This safe was built into the wall, thus presently no backboard or bottom board, but complete to display as you see it.

Designed with heavy forged bronze hobnails against iron plating. The surface has taken on rusty red tones, as well as green-gray oxidation on the bronze. At top is an opening apparently for deposits next to a handle that would’ve lifted this lid at one time. Forming a triangle of figures in the façade is a tiger above two classical figures of women flanking a boars head, and below that pair of putti facing each other and central Bacchus-like bust.
